Our Impact & Initiatives

At Smart Agripreneurs’ Academy, we believe in action-driven education that empowers young people to see agriculture as a pathway to purpose, prosperity, and progress. Below are some of the key initiatives we’ve led to bring agripreneurship education directly to students and schools across The Gambia.

Agripreneurship School Outreach Campaign

As part of our mission to cultivate the next generation of agripreneurs, we launched the Agripreneurship School Outreach Campaign — an engaging school tour designed to inspire and educate secondary school students about opportunities in agriculture and agribusiness.
Through storytelling, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions, we reached over 200 students across three schools, igniting curiosity, creativity, and confidence in agriculture as a first-choice career path.

School Garden Enhancement Initiative – Jappineh School

To promote hands-on agri-learning and sustainability, we pioneered the School Garden Enhancement Initiative at Jappineh Upper and Senior Secondary School.
This project aimed to improve garden productivity and create income-generating opportunities, while teaching students essential skills in food production, composting, and entrepreneurship.

Agri4Youth Awareness Campaign – Youth Day of Service 2024

As part of Youth Day of Service 2024 (YDoS) — powered by LEAP Africa — we hosted the Agri4Youth Awareness Campaign at Pirang Senior Secondary School.
This campaign spotlighted agriculture as an innovative, tech-driven industry with endless potential.
Through interactive presentations, we explored careers in:

  • Agribusiness & agri-tech

  • Climate-smart farming

  • Food innovation

  • Entrepreneurial leadership

We reminded students: Agriculture isn’t just about farming — it’s about building a future rooted in innovation, sustainability, and empowerment.

Agro-Educational Field Trip – Holistic Agribusiness Centre

In February 2025, we led students from the Jappineh Chapter on a transformative 3-day training at the Holistic Agribusiness Centre in Balingho, North Bank Region.
Students received hands-on experience in:

  • Sustainable crop production

  • Poultry farming

  • Soil testing using climate-smart practices

This immersive experience helped bridge the gap between theory and practice, turning knowledge into real-world competence.

SDGs Activation Project – Mindaw Senior Secondary School

Through our SDGs Activation Project, we introduced students at Mindaw Senior Secondary School to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and inspired action toward global change.
Highlights of the project included:

  • Exploring the evolution and importance of the SDGs

  • Identifying local challenges aligned with global goals

  • Equipping youth with the mindset and tools to be change agents

Special focus was placed on Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Decent Work, and Economic Growth — all pillars of our mission at Smart Agripreneurs’ Academy.
